What’s inspiring me right now?  Gold!  This precious metal has been used and admired in decor for thousands of years, but if you think it is too fancy or traditional for a contemporary home, then you haven’t seen the assortment of gold furnishings on the market.  Luxe, minimal, or exotic, old-world or new, there is something for everyone.  Don’t feel like you have to splurge on the real thing in order to achieve high style.  Regardless of the material – brass, silk, marble, paint, etc.  – the warm tone and soft luster of gold-hued items will enhance a wide range of styles.  Just keep in mind that a little bit goes a long way.  Maintain a fresh, modern feel by mixing a few carefully selected gold items with a variety of other colors and textures. 1. I agree, gold is a great colour, so versatile. Its can be glamorous and hold a real presence in a room, it can add warmth, it can be subtle and discreet and contrasts brilliantly against many colours. I wrote a post ‘Be Bold with Gold’ let me know if you like it!
